Acacia senegal

Inhibiting bleeding, inflammation of the intestinal area, as an emollient, in cough, burns, sore throat and as a vehicle for other medicines (for example. suspending insoluble powders) (gum); bark, leaves and gum are used to treat gastritic disorders,, haemorrhage, ophtalmia, colds, diarrhoea, gonorrhea, leprosy, typhoid, urinary tract infections and as emollient, antitussive and astringent ; the gum is considered an aphrodisiac. The flowers are relished by honeybees.

Akebia lobata

It controls gram-positive bacterial and fungal infections and is used in the treatment of urinary tract infections, lack of menstruation, to improve lactation etc.

Aphanes arvensis

To rid the body of stones in the kidney or bladder, in cystitis and recurrent urinary infections, promotes the flow of urine and in treating jaundice (herb)

Armoracia rusticana

In the treatment of colds, fevers and flu and is of value in the treatment of respiratory and urinary tract infections; to treat pleurisy, arthritis and infected wounds (root)

Arundo phragmites

Cajanus cajan

Mouth sores (leaf and flower); for anemia, hepatitis, diabetes, urinary infections, and yellow fever (leaves); for dysentery, and menstrual disorders, bronchitis, coughs, and pneumonia (flowers).

Centella asiatica

For healing wounds (plant extract); in tuberculosis and leprosy (plant decoction); improves intellectual capacity, concentration and memory of children, in skin diseases, asthma, bronchitis, gastric problems, leucorrhea, catarrh, as an antidote in cholera; on boils and tumours (plant paste); to cure severe headache, to prevent and cure urinary tract infections and the growth of kidney stones (leaf juice).

Chondrodendron tomentosum

For prostatitis, urinary tract infections, to tone, balance, and strengthen the kidneys, vaginal discharge and venereal diseases, testicular inflammation.

Coix lachryma-jobi

Menstrual problems (root); as a diuretic and tonic (seed); for abdominal tumours, oesophageal, gastrointestinal, and lung cancers, various tumours, as well as excrescences, warts, in the treatment of lung abscess, lobar pneumonia,appendicitis, rheumatoid arthritis, beriberi, diarrhoea, oedema and difficult urination (fruits); in influenza (root or young leaves).

Crataeva magna

In blood diseases, internal abscesses, increasing the secretion of gastric juices, as a tonic, demulcent, antidote, in constipation, disorders and problems related to the urinary tract (including painful urination, infections and stones) (bark), promote appetite, fresh leaves are used externally rubefacient and internally febrifuge.

Cucumis melo

As a tonic, diuretic , in urinary tract infections and to expel the tapeworms or other parasites from the body (seed); skin maladies (fruit pulp). The fruits is used as a cooling light cleanser or moisturiser for the skin. It is also used as a first aid treatment for burns and abrasions.

Cynanchum atratum

In the treatment of coughs and hectic fevers, haematuria, acute urinary tract infection, pharyngitis, abscesses and snake bites, for sore throat, boils, and sores (root)

Forsythia suspensa

To treat boils, carbuncles, urinary tract infections, allergic rashes, mumps and infected neck glands (herb); in the treatment of breast cancer (decoction of the leaves and twigs); cancer, colds, fever and jaundice (root); poulticed onto ulcerated glands and haemorrhoids (leaves); used internally in the treatment of acute infectious diseases such as mumps, and also for tonsillitis, urinary tract infections and allergic rashes (fruit).

Juniperus communis

In urinary tract diseases, dropsy, digestive maladies, maladies associated with the chills, rheumatism and body aches. Oil of Juniper is given as a diuretic, stomachic, and carminative in indigestion, flatulence, and diseases of the kidney and bladder. The oil mixed with lard is also used in veterinary practice as an application to exposed wounds and prevents irritation from flies. Spirit of Juniper is employed as a stimulating diuretic in cardiac and hepatic dropsy. The fruit is readily eaten by most animals, especially sheep, and to prevent and cure dropsy.

Lamium album

For diseases of the upper respiratory tract, depression, digestive disorders, inflammations of the prostate, for abnormal vaginal discharge and is sometimes taken to relieve painful periods, kidney and urinary tract and in skin maladies (such as wounds and rashes).In haemorrhages of the uterus, nose etc (decoction); in bleeding piles, against fluor albus, chlorosis and debilities (flowers)

Myrtus communis

In the treatment of urinary infections, digestive problems, vaginal discharge, bronchial congestion, sinusitis, dry coughs, cerebral affections, especially epilepsy (plant); for rheumatism (oil); dysentery, diarrhoea, haemorrhoids, internal ulceration and rheumatism (fruit)

Phaseolus vulgaris

For acne, bladder problems, burns, diabetes, diarrhea, dropsy, dysentery, eczema, hiccups, itch, kidney stones, rheumatism, sciatica, tenesmus, urinary tract infections; in the treatment of cancer of the blood (seed)

Phellodendron amurense

In the treatment of acute diarrhoea, dysentery, jaundice, vaginal infections including Trichomonas, acute urinary tract infections, enteritis, boils, abscesses, night sweats and skin diseases.

Phellodendron chinense

For acute diarrhoea, dysentery, jaundice, vaginal infections including Trichomonas, acute urinary tract infections, enteritis, boils, abscesses, night sweats and skin diseases (bark)

Phyllanthus amarus

Jaundice and liver diseases, diabetes, influenza, asthma, infections of the bronchial tubes, indigestion, colic, dropsy, as an astringent, diuretic and disorders of the urogenital system and kidney (plant). The whole plant is used to treat jaundice, chronic dysentery, dyspepsia, cough, asthma, indigestion, diabetes, urinary tract diseases, skin diseases, ulcer, sores and swelling. Whole plant is used in gonorrhoea, menorrhagia and other genital affections. It is also useful in dropsy, jaundice, diarrhoea, dysentery, intermittent fevers, ophthalmopathy, scabies, ulcers and wounds. Young shoots and leaves are given in dysentery and ulcers. Fresh root is an excellent remedy for jaundice. The decoction of the plant is a remedy for intermittent fevers and intermittents with infarcts of the spleen and liver.

Polygonum lapathifolium

In urinary tract diseases and dissolving kidney stones. It is applied externally to burns.

Rhynchosia minima

Abortifacient (leaf); Used as antibiotic in urinary tract infections (plant)

Smilax china

Old syphilitic cases and is also used for certain skin diseases, including psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, gout, enteritis, urinary tract infections, skin ulcers etc.

Vaccinium vitis-idaea

In urinary tract infections; in the treatment of gonorrhoea, arthritis, rheumatism, diabetes and diarrhoea (leaves); for diarrhoea and as a treatment for sore throats, coughs and colds (mature fruits); as a gargle in treatment for sore throats (juice of the plant).
